How to deal with Russian aggression/expansion

It is easy to join with feminism considering the world situation of today. But with these radical circumstances it is supposedly also easy to join with some authoritarian solution. From a north European perspective, Russia is a factor that has to be considered. So a political party has to have a good answer to how to respond to the aggression/expansion of Russia.

Other things that needs to be taken care of here and now is the climate change, protection of the environment, to tackle that more and more people cannot afford to live. Imperialist/fascist-behavior from Trump and the MAGA-movement, from Israel and from China. And the lack of workforce in the welfare sector and needs of the migrants who are fleeing from the global south. Criminality and terrorism.

About Russia, the easy answer to this would be to gather a lot of resources to strengthen the military defence in Ukraine, to focus the budget of your own country to the military and to strengthen the European Union and NATO. This means to sacrifice all else for more weapons. Yet an understandable answer to all the news we have seen of the terror-warfare against Ukraine. This is what I would define as radical right wing politics.

So what is feminism?

I choose here to use the definition used by the Swedish party the Feminists. Which means to see the patriarchy as a ruling force in the world. Focus on strengtening the welfare sector. Anticapitalism and anticolonianism. To see the crisis with climate change och the environment. Solidarity with the global south & with Palestine. The need of activism outside of the parlament. Antifascism against strict migration politics and increasing state repression, surveillance & control. Defence of civil liberties & human rights. Zero money to weapons and zero support to Ukraine.

The radical right wing is the total opposition of this.

It might see the crisis with the climate change and the environment. It might speak up for defence of civil liberties & human rights. But its politics are sacrificing these things. And we have seen many examples of how the green movement align itself with the radical right. Of how the left side align itself with a middle social democracy which in big parts is radical right. The colour of the Feminist party is pink. So it would be nice if the future could be pink.

What is the pink response to Russian aggression/expansion?

The outspoken answer is that the Feminists are for peace. No money to weapons. The alternative then is diplomatic relations. I have seen similar answers from the german left wing party Die Linke. I mean that something is amiss here. And that this lack of a proper answer could make it very reasonable for people to choose to vote for the radical right instead.

If you leave the doors to your country/society wide open for authoritarian leaders to walk in, they will do their thing and practise authoritarian leadership. So with zero military defence, it seems necessary at least with a strong civil defence of our way of life, civil liberties & human rights. I thing that a feminist movement holds all the prerequisites necessary to foster such a civil defence to its members.
